Rwamucyo
French prosecutors have requested a 30-year prison sentence for Eugène Rwamucyo during his appeal trial before the Paris Assize Court, where he is facing charges related to genocide and crimes against humanity committed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Rwamucyo is being retried after appealing a previous ruling in which he was sentenced to 27 years in prison by a French court.

During the appeal proceedings, prosecutors argued that the evidence presented reinforces the seriousness of the charges against him and urged the court to increase his sentence to 30 years.

The appeal hearing is ongoing before the Paris Assize Court, with the final verdict expected after the judges have heard arguments from both the prosecution and the defense.

Eugène Rwamucyo is accused of crimes linked to the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, including genocide and crimes against humanity.

At this stage, the court has not yet issued its final decision on his appeal.
