Iran Kills Two U.S. Soldiers in Jordan Attack

Two United States military personnel have been killed in an Iranian attack targeting U.S. military facilities in Jordan, using missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the deaths, saying the attack occurred on Friday as American troops in the Middle East were responding to continued attacks launched by Iran.

The strike comes as the conflict between the United States and Iran enters its seventh day, following President Donald Trump’s announcement that a previously agreed ceasefire was no longer in effect.

Iran said it carried out attacks on U.S. military positions in Jordan and other areas around the Persian Gulf, describing the strikes as retaliation for American attacks near the Strait of Hormuz.

The latest escalation has raised fears that tensions between the two countries could intensify further and spread across the wider Middle East region.
