African Union to Hold Extraordinary Summit in Angola on Conflict Prevention

As the African continent continues to face a series of security and political crises, the African Union (AU) is preparing to bring together its main decision-making bodies in Luanda, Angola, for an extraordinary session dedicated to strengthening conflict prevention and resolution mechanisms.

According to the Information and Communication Directorate of the African Union Commission, as well as the final communiqué issued at the conclusion of the 46th SADC Summit, Luanda will host the 26th Extraordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council on August 29, followed by the 21st Extraordinary Session of the African Union Assembly on August 3.
