President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, received a delegation from the United States Congress led by Representative Brett Guthrie, Chair of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the President at Village Urugwiro, the discussions between President Kagame and the delegation focused on Rwanda’s development journey and ways in which the two countries can strengthen and expand cooperation in areas including healthcare, energy, and investment.
The delegation included Troy Carter, Morgan Griffith, Russ Fulcher, Jay Obernolte, Cliff Bentz, Craig Goldman, and Julie Fedorchak.

In the healthcare sector, the United States continues to support various projects aimed at improving healthcare services in Rwanda.
At the end of 2025, the two countries signed a cooperation agreement worth US$228 million, equivalent to more than RWF 330 billion.
Rwanda has also reported continued growth in American investment, including cooperation between Trinity Metals and U.S. companies in the export of wolfram (tungsten) minerals to the American market.
According to the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) 2024 investment report, the United States invested US$441.3 million across 31 projects operating in Rwanda.
