Kuwait has announced that its air defense forces successfully thwarted an attack involving missiles and drones early in the morning, as tensions continue to rise in the Gulf region due to growing security-related conflicts.

In a statement released by security authorities, Kuwait’s leadership said that its air defense systems detected and intercepted several missiles before they could reach their intended targets.
The authorities added that the military remains on high alert and is closely monitoring developments to ensure the safety of the country and its citizens.
Residents in different parts of Kuwait reported hearing loud explosions and the sound of air defense systems firing.
Videos circulating on social media appeared to show flashes of missiles being intercepted in the sky, although the BBC reported that it had not independently verified the authenticity of the footage.

So far, Kuwait’s authorities have not reported any damage or casualties resulting from the attack, and investigations are still ongoing.

The incident comes as tensions between Iran and some countries in the region continue to escalate, raising concerns that the conflict could expand and affect the security of the wider Gulf region.

Political and security analysts warn that if such attacks continue, they could disrupt international trade, particularly shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route through which a significant portion of the world’s oil supplies passes.
