Ukraine: Russian Missile and Drone Strikes Leave Devastation Across Kyiv

Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, was hit by another wave of intense Russian missile and drone attacks, leaving at least nine people dead and 46 others injured, including five children.

The overnight strikes, launched early Monday morning, caused extensive damage to apartment buildings, residential homes, and other key infrastructure across the city.

Emergency rescue teams were immediately deployed to search for survivors believed to be trapped beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings while firefighters battled blazes sparked by the explosions.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said missiles struck several districts of the city, igniting fires in residential neighborhoods and damaging shops, warehouses, and industrial facilities.

The attacks came just days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia could launch another large-scale assault on the capital, citing intelligence reports indicating Kyiv remained a likely target.

The strikes also occurred as preparations were underway for talks between Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization summit, where discussions were expected to focus on the military and financial support Ukraine continues to seek amid the ongoing war.

While Russia maintains that its attacks target military installations and energy infrastructure, Ukraine accuses Moscow of deliberately striking civilian areas and critical public infrastructure, resulting in growing civilian casualties.
