Russian experts have voiced concerns that the ongoing confrontation between the United States and Iran could escalate further, potentially leading to more extreme military scenarios.
Marat Bashirov, a Russian political analyst and professor, said the failure of conventional strikes to produce clear results could increase pressure on Washington to consider other military options. He claimed that, in a worst-case scenario, the use of tactical nuclear weapons could be considered.
Bashirov also linked recent US warnings urging citizens to leave some Middle Eastern countries to fears that the conflict could spread beyond its current frontlines. According to him, the measures may reflect concerns within the Pentagon about a possible wider escalation.
The comments come amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran, following continued military exchanges and growing international fears of a wider regional war.
However, there has been no announcement from US authorities suggesting that nuclear weapons are being considered for use against Iran. Bashirov’s remarks remain an individual assessment and do not represent official US policy.
World leaders have continued to call for restraint and diplomatic efforts, warning that any further escalation could have serious consequences for security across the Middle East and beyond.
